At Milperra Public School, we believe every child is a capable and unique learner. We are committed to providing the right support so that all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in a safe and inclusive environment.
What we offer
Learning Support
Our teachers work closely with families to identify each child’s strengths and needs. We provide support through:
- Classroom differentiation to cater for different learning styles
- Learning and Support Teachers and School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs)
- Targeted literacy and numeracy programs, including MultiLit and EAST Maths
- Personalised Learning and Support Plans (PLSPs) for students who require extra adjustments.
Wellbeing
Student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We foster a caring and respectful culture where students feel safe, connected, and ready to learn. Our wellbeing initiatives include:
- Life Skills Go, to empower student voice through technology, helping schools drive better outcomes by providing evidence-based wellbeing data—from the students, for the students.
- Access to the school counsellor
- Programs that build resilience, empathy, and emotional regulation
- Buddy systems and student leadership opportunities that strengthen friendships and belonging.
Enrichment and Extension
We also provide opportunities for students to be challenged and extend their learning through:
- High Potential and Gifted Education programs
- Enrichment activities in areas such as STEM, sport, creative arts, and debating
- Leadership roles that encourage responsibility and initiative.
Working Together
We recognise that parents and carers are our most important partners in education. We work closely with families and, where needed, connect with external specialists and services to ensure every child receives the right support at the right time.
