Assemblies

Assemblies are an important part of school life where we come together to celebrate achievements, share news, and build school spirit.

Assembly Schedule

Morning Assemblies

Every Monday morning, we hold a brief morning assembly where we present Student of the Week awards, “Caught You Being Good” canteen vouchers, and PSSA awards.

Parents and Carers are welcome to attend.

Fortnightly Assemblies

Assemblies are held every two weeks (Tuesday afternoons), alternating between K-2 and Years 3-6 in our school hall. They start at 2.05pm and finish around 2.45pm. A number of special assemblies are also held throughout the year eg, Anzac Day, Remembrance Day etc. This is when we have a whole school assembly.

At our assemblies, a different class runs each assembly, giving students the chance to lead and participate. Class teachers will present merit awards to recognise student achievements. Reward chart awards (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum) are also handed out to celebrate ongoing positive behaviour and effort.

At each assembly, students recite a pledge:

At Milperra Public School,

We are thankful for the gifts of health and strength.

For a good home,

and a happy school,

we do our best at all times.

We work honestly,

we play fairly

and we are kind and thoughtful in all of our actions.

At Milperra Public School we aim high.
